Claire's Big Ideas: #4 - Extend the Train Platform Below Summit Avenue

Welcome to the fourth installment of Claire’s Big Ideas.  Here’s an idea to improve pedestrian safety…

One of Summit’s more dangerous intersections is where Summit Avenue, Union Place, and Franklin Place come together near the raised bridge over the railroad tracks.  The steady stream of commuters can make this corner chaotic.  In fact, there was a fatal accident at that intersection a few years ago.

If commuters coming from New York could cross Summit Avenue below street level and connect to the parking garage from there, life would be safer for all of us.
